Bitter Lovers

You can't blame the bitter for feeling how they feel.

They have valid reasons to why who they are. 

And yes, 

Maybe they're excuses to being that way...

But understand, 

That maybe it's their way 

Of protecting their hearts 

In the meantime... 

Because those who are bitter,

Were once those 

Who loved the deepest 

And hardest.

But after the disappointments they had...

Gives them valid reasons, 

To be believe things as they are:

Because they've learned, 

That people never change. 

It's just "we never saw who they really are".

They were always there.

So if anything, 

They're not surprised. 

Because they also,

Don't expect anymore.

It saves them from 

Disappointment.  

Trust me. 

They secretly crave deeply 

For a real love

That screams old fashion styles.

We once came from an innocent side 

Like you. 

But they're aware, 

That they're heart is too big 

And naive

To accept things. 

That they've been there,

Done that. 

But in the mean time,

They'll appear 

To be bitter, 

Cold and 

Heartless. 

Unable to let anyone in. 

And only those who can see beyond it,

And understand,

Are those

Who can possibly break through.

Accept our pessimism. 

We're not asking for someone to fix us. 

We're asking to be understood 

And appreciated. 

We're old fashion, remember? 

So we don't ask for much. 

But to maybe...

Stay away. 

Until our hearts recover. 

From this bitterness 

Or maybe, we were like this all along?
